Celebrating Medical Billers Day Across Our Campuses
March 26, 2026, All locations – Medical Billers Day gave our campuses a chance to pause and recognize the important role medical billing professionals play in the healthcare field—and to celebrate the students working toward those paths.
Observed each year on the last Thursday in March, Medical Billers Day was established by the American Medical Billing Association to bring awareness to the work medical billing professionals do behind the scenes. It’s a day dedicated to recognizing the individuals who help support the financial side of healthcare and keep processes moving forward.
Across four New Jersey and one Connecticut locations, students in the Medical Billing and Coding program joined in activities that brought people together and highlighted the role of these professionals in the field. From conversations with peers to t-shirts to swag handouts, the day was all about connecting classroom learning to real-world appreciation. Because, as our t-shirt proudly proclaimed, ‘Even doctors need heroes.’
Medical billing professionals support the day-to-day flow of healthcare operations by working with patient records and billing systems. Their work helps keep things running behind the scenes in places like healthcare offices and clinics.
To quote Torrian S., a graduate from the West Hartford, CT location, “Being a Medical Coder and Biller at the end of the day is satisfying because I’m doing something that I enjoy and not because I have to. A rewarding part of my position is just making sure that I’m making a small impact on patient care, even if it’s just making sure payments and treatment is correct. Health is a vital part of living and I like to think that I’m making a difference in this small way.”
Students in the program are building knowledge in areas like coding systems and healthcare documentation. Along the way, they’re developing skills that may be used in entry-level administrative roles within the healthcare field.
The celebration also served as a reminder that students have support from their #AIFamily throughout their journey. Whether it’s academic guidance or help from Career Services, resources are available to support students as they prepare for what comes next. Career Services assistance is available to help graduates with their job search.
“Moments like these are a great way to recognize the effort students put into their education every day. It’s always exciting to see that progress—and Medical Billers Day was a great reason to celebrate it together,” shared Christopher Coutts, Senior Vice President of Ground Strategic Operations.
