Celebrating Skilled Trades Day 2026 in New Jersey
May 6, 2026, All New Jersey locations – Skilled Trades Day is celebrated to highlight the importance of hands-on careers like electrical trades and show appreciation for the individuals who keep our communities running.
Across New Jersey, American Institute campuses added their own touch to the celebrations this year. Cherry Hill and Clifton kept the momentum going by handing out swag, while Toms River and Somerset helped students show off their pride with custom t-shirts. No matter the location, the focus stayed the same: recognizing our Electrical Trades Technology (ETT) #AIFamily and celebrating the work they’re putting in every day as well as their future potential impact in our communities.
Toms River, NJ ETT grad Joseph B shared his experience, “ETT training prepared me for the job I have in many ways. One of them is showing me how to use the tools and the right materials for the job. They also taught us how to do things the right way, like running wire, putting up boxes and devices and much more.”
Our lives are built around the skilled trades that support us, from keeping us connected to each other to just keeping the lights on, and we’re grateful to all our ETT students and grads, faculty and staff for choosing this important career.

To everyone who helped make the day memorable on campus—thank you for being part of it!
