Massage Therapy Awareness Week 2025 at American Institute
October 19–25, 2025 marks National Massage Therapy Awareness Week, a time to celebrate the healing power of touch and the professionals who help make a difference every day through massage therapy. At American Institute, we’re honored to be a career education provider that helps aspiring massage therapists turn their passion into purpose — and their purpose into a profession.
Why Massage Therapy Matters
Massage therapy is more than relaxation — it’s a part of a holistic healthcare approach and gaining traction in today’s modern healthcare systems. From easing chronic pain and reducing stress to improving circulation and supporting recovery, massage therapy offers physical and emotional benefits that can enhance lives. During this week, we joined the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and others across the country in spotlighting the value of massage therapy and the professionals who deliver it. The American Institute Way: Training to Help Make an Impact
At American Institute, our Massage Therapy Program is designed to prepare students to pursuemeaningful careers in wellness. With hands-on training in techniques like Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, and Shiatsu massage, students also learn anatomy, pathology, ethics, and client communication — all essential for today’s healthcare and wellness environments.
Celebrating Our Students and Graduates
Massage Therapy Awareness Week is also a time to celebrate the journeys of our students and alumni. From classroom to clinic, they’ve worked hard to build skills, confidence, and go on to pursue careers that can help make a difference. Their stories inspire us — and remind us why we do what we do.
From Heather B., Massage therapy graduation from the Toms River, NJ campus: “Massage therapy – it’s very rewarding career. You get to connect with people not only on a physical level because you are touching them and helping out with, you know, knots and all aches and pains and everything, but you almost become like a therapist to them. A lot of people will – like release emotional stuff… But it’s good because a lot of people have like hugged me and walked out like – oh, my gosh, like – you just made my day and made me feel so much better. So, it’s nice in that aspect.”
Victoria C., Massage Therapy graduate and valedictorian from the Clifton, NJ campus, shared “American institute becomes your home – like – what you’re discussing – what the academics is – the teachers that you’re meeting. Everyone creates this home space… You’re dealing with emotions every day. This is your place to come and find that release – find that coping mechanism in a healthy way. And it sticks with you when you leave here. I come back and visit. I don’t go visit my high school. I don’t go visit my college. I come visit here because this is home. And the teachers, the staff, like – they’re amazing and they’re always so welcoming.”
