March 3-7, All locations – American Institute Dental Assisting students, staff, grads, and faculty joined in honoring Dental Assistants Recognition Week in 2025. Students at the Clifton, NJ campus received insulated lunch totes in honor of the week, while Cherry Hill, Somerset, and Toms River, NJ campuses celebrated with t-shirts and cupcakes. The West Hartford, CT campus enjoyed cupcakes followed by a joint ‘taco bar’ celebration the next week where both Dental Assisting and Medical Coding and Billing students were recognized (Medical Billers Day falls later in the same month).

“Dentistry is an art and a science which makes an impact in people’s lives and transforms smiles. As Dental Assistants it is our duty to provide oral health education, make patient’s feel comfortable, and ease their anxiety. One of the rewarding things about being a Dental Assistant is changing the perception of Dentistry to a more positive light, gone are the days where the dental office is depicted as a scary place. We want our patients to have an overall wonderful experience where they feel safe and leave with beautiful smiles,” shared Annicris G., DMD, Instructor, Dental Assisting (Somerset, NJ).

This year’s theme by the American Dental Assistants Association is ‘Superheroes Behind the Smiles’ and highlights the essential role dental assistants play in patient care and the overall dental experience.¹

One of our own #AIFamily ‘superhero’ Dental Assisting grads shared, “I chose dental assisting for many reasons. Whether it’s helping someone feel comfortable during their appointment or providing education on how best to take care of their teeth and gums, I have always wanted to be there for those who need it most. Nothing beats the before-and-after comparison.
