National Wear Red Day 2023

February 3, 2023, All locations – Each year, the American Heart Association sponsors their Go Red For Women campaign, and as part of it they ask all of us to celebrate National Wear Red Day. In the past few years, our extended #AIFamily have lost vital women’s lives to heart disease and the lack of awareness from medical professionals who cared for them. This is, quite simply, unacceptable. It’s not OK that cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of women and yet some healthcare providers still don’t actively pursue testing/treatment to help address heart health in women because they just don’t understand how symptoms can present differently for women. It’s not OK that women receive bystander CPR at a lower rate than men due to misinformation. It’s not OK that 80% of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action and we still see this happening.

American Institute is proud to join the Go Red For Women campaign and help our up and coming allied healthcare professionals know what to watch for and how to help women even if they do not have classical symptoms.

We are proud of all our #AIFamily who has taken this cause ‘to heart’ (pun intended) and applaud them for helping to spread awareness in our communities. We hope that we can turn our heartbreak over the women we’ve lost to heart disease into action to safeguard future generations, and invite our local communities to do the same.
