Education

We believe that our students should leave our program with confidence that they can effectively perform the techniques they learned here and apply them to their patients. That’s why our students’ education is hands-on, allowing them to practice the dental procedures themselves before they enter the working world. Our program covers the skills needed to perform a variety of dental office procedures and laboratory techniques. We also make sure that our students understand medical and dental terminology along with a comprehension of head and neck anatomy. This extensive look into dentistry support will give students the background they need to understand and effectively communicate the needs of their patients. Our program teaches students skills that are necessary to becoming a dental assistant. Some skills that our students will learn are:
  • Sterilizing and setting out dental instruments
  • Processing x rays
  • Keeping the patient’s’ mouth dry with dental equipment
  • Working with patients to keep them comfortable before treatments
  • Keeping records of dental treatments
  • Helping patients on billing and payment
There’s a lot that goes into dental assisting and we’re committed to providing an education that will be valuable to students when they complete their education.

More Than Health

Our program is designed to teach students more than just dental health so they are prepared for anything they might encounter during their career. In addition to learning about dental cleaning, students will also be taught dental law and ethics, and patient rights. We also go over how to communicate with the patients so students can easily perform tasks like scheduling the patient’s next appointment and instructing them in proper dental hygiene.

Accredited

Since last year, all of our locations have been accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). This recognized accrediting agency by the US Department of Education has judged us worthy of higher education to continually improve our students’ learning experience. You can read more about our accreditation program and what that means for our students here.

Flexible Schedules

We don’t want anyone who’s ready to pursue their medical goals to be stopped by their schedule. That’s why our Dental Assisting program is offered to students through a combination of distance education and on-campus classes. Students will be able to communicate and participate in classes when their schedule allows for it by using a learning management system that students can access online, called Canvas. With this system, students are able to ask questions and receive lectures from their instructors through live chats or video chats. This is done so that students can communicate effectively with our faculty when it’s most convenient.

Financial Aid

Don’t let finances stop you from looking into the medical field. For our Dental Assisting program, financial aid may be available to those who qualify. Contact us for more information to find out what your options are.
