How Do I Start Learning About Financial Aid at American Institute?

As you’re preparing for your medical education, there will be multiple steps in your application process to make sure that you’re ready to get started. Part of this includes an interview process where we discuss with you the tuition and fees for each program. This will give you the chance to ask questions specific to your situation. Our team will be ready to help to get you started on the right path!

FAFSA

Now that you know the basics of our financial aid at our school, we want to help you by explaining the process to help you get started. Since we’re accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting commission and approved by the U.S Department of Education, we have the opportunity to offer our students federal financial assistance to those who are eligible. To find out if you qualify for federal aid, the first step is to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The information on this form combined with your tax return information determines which financial aid options could be available to you.

If you’re unsure how to answer a question on your FAFSA form or you would like more clarification and would like to talk with a person, someone from our Financial Aid Department would be happy to help answer any questions you may have! After filling out this form, there are multiple financial aid options to research.

Student Loan

A student loan is money for your education that you’re expected to pay back after graduation. Depending on your financial need, you can decide whether a direct subsidized or unsubsidized loan is best for you. Click here to learn more about them to find out if you qualify.

Pell Grant

Federal Pell Grants are awarded to students based on their financial needs. Unlike loans, students don’t have to pay back the money after graduating from one of our programs. The information on your FAFSA form determines whether you qualify for a Federal Pell Grant and how much money should be awarded to help pay for your education.

Cash Pay

Are you already financially prepared enough to start your medical journey today? Cash paying could be the best way for you to get started! Through this form of payment, you could pay for your tuition costs with your own cash at the beginning of your education. This is a popular method of payment because it allows you to focus on learning what you love!
