Medical Assistant Aiding an Elderly Woman.

Medical Assisting Online Program Overview

Our Medical Assisting Associate’s Degree Program offers students extensive training which will allow them to develop skills in medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, phlebotomy, ECG/EKG, clinical procedures, medical billing, practice management, medical law and ethics, patient rights, security and privacy of medical records, and HIPAA (Healthcare Insurance, Portability & Accountability Act) standards.

This innovative Medical Assisting program uses a hybrid of online/onsite delivery format through a combination of:

  • Online Distance Education for Theory Classes that provides students with enhanced visual tools for Anatomy & Physiology with computerized graphics, demonstrations and simulations in addition to access to recorded classes for on-demand review when studying. Laptop included in program costs*

  • On-campus Lab for Hands-on Training that helps students develop hands-on skills in our labs in simulated real life situations for improved critical thinking skills

  • Clinical Externships give students the chance to refine skills learned in lab courses and apply them in a ‘real life’ setting while exploring areas of interest and different specialities

Graduates will be prepared to assist a physician with examinations and treatment of patients, perform laboratory tests, and function as a crucial member of the team that shares the administrative responsibilities of operating a medical care facility.
